Sound familiar?

  • You bought the lap timer. You've got a season of data on your laptop. You still can't say why you're losing time in turn 4.

  • Same bike. Same tires. Your friend rides your bike and goes two seconds a lap faster than you. Neither of you can explain it.

  • I think it's more than $400. A set of tires is ~450, Entry is usually 250.

  • The lap timer shows you what happened. It never tells you what to change.

You're not slow.
You're guessing.

LapSnap lets you compare laps side by side on the same track, so you can see where the gap opens and what to look at before your next session.

about lapsnap

See exactly where the time went.

LapSnap connects to the device you already run (AiM, RaceBox, GoPro, RaceChrono) pulls your session onto your phone, and lays your lap next to a real pro's on the same track.

No new equipment from what you already have. Find the one corner to work on next session that will improve your lap time.

JOEL OHMAN

This is Joel Ohman. A real MotoAmerica pro. We put his actual recorded laps inside LapSnap.

His data, corner by corner, on the tracks he has ridden, so instead of guessing what fast looks like, you can see it.

Line your lap up against his and it shows: where he brakes later, where he carries speed... and exactly where the gap opens. The data might surprise you.

Still wondering?

I’m nowhere near pro pace. What would comparing laps actually tell me?

You don’t need to match a pro’s lap time to learn from it. Comparing laps can show where your speeds differ and where the gap grows, giving you a specific corner to review.

If we’re on different bikes and tires, is the comparison even useful?

Yes, but those differences matter. Use the comparison to understand where your laps differ, rather than treating someone else’s braking points or corner speeds as targets you should copy.

What can this show me that my lap timer doesn’t already tell me?

Your lap timer gives you a time. LapSnap lets you compare laps side by side and see which parts of the track account for the difference.

I’ve looked at telemetry before and had no idea what it meant. Why would this be different?

Seeing two laps together gives the numbers context. Start with one corner and compare the speeds through it. There’s still some interpretation involved, but you have a concrete difference to look at.

What if there’s no pro lap for the track I ride?

You can still compare your own laps to see what changed between them. Pro reference laps are an additional option for the motorcycle tracks covered by the available data.

Am I going to spend my time between sessions messing with an app?

You can review your sessions later at home, too. Setup and importing depend on your device, so get familiar with the process before your track day.

I only do a few track days a year. Is this worth paying for?

That depends on how much you use it to review those days. Comparing sessions from repeat visits can help you see what changed, even when those visits are months apart.

How do I know whether I’m improving or just had one good lap?

Compare several laps instead of judging everything by your best time. Look for changes you’re repeating, such as consistently carrying more speed through the same corner.

I already work with a coach. Where does LapSnap fit in?

Use it to review the laps you discuss with your coach and bring more specific questions to your next session. Your coach can help interpret the differences and decide what to work on.

Can I use the gear I already have, or do I need to buy something else?

LapSnap supports data from AiM, GoPro, RaceBox, and RaceChrono. Check compatibility with your exact device and model before buying anything.

You already do the hard part.

Stop leaving the answer at the track.

I race too. I know the drive home... replaying every corner. Pushing harder only to have the same lap time, wondering where you're going to find those two seconds. Showing up next weekend to do it all again.

A coach runs about $1,400/day and only helps while you're there. LapSnap comes home with you β€” your lap next to a real pro's on the same track, ready to review at the track, at home, and the night before the next round, as many times as you want.

It won't ride the bike for you... but it will show you exactly where the gap is, giving you one thing to work on. For less than a tank of gas.
